How long have you been in business?
We have been in business since 1971. We are celebrating our 47th Anniversary this year, 2017.
What is your primary product or service?
Rafting Expeditions on the Green and Colorado Rivers in Utah and Arizona, also on the Tatshenshini and Alsek Rivers in Alaska. We have 1-day rafting trips in Green River, Utah, and Moab, Utah. We also run the wild and beautiful stretch of the Colorado River in Canyonlands National Park. The biggest rapids in the west are in Cataract Canyon, a section of the Colorado River in Canyonlands.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Owner, David Mackay, became a river guide in 1965 and decided he liked it so much that he wanted to start his own company. He started the company in 1971 and is still actively involved in the day-to-day operations. Dave's children, Walker and Bonnie, are also active in the business, both in managing the company's operations and in running the river. As a family, we love working together to provide fun, high quality, outdoor adventures.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Outstanding customer service. We cater to our clients and will do everything we can to customize a trip to suit their interests, abilities, or special diet requests. We have an excellent safety record, and we have a guide staff with numerous years of experience. Everyone at our company is personable, helpful, capable, and dedicated to quality service. We maintain excellent rafting equipment in excellent condition.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have four locations, but our main office is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. We operate our various rafting trips out of Fredonia, Arizona; Green River, Utah; and Haines, Alaska.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept personal and company checks, as well as VISA and Mastercard credit cards.

Office hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. We monitor our voice mail and email on the weekends.
